ATD manufactures a wide range of sawing equipment to remove gates, risers and sprues from casted parts.   Typically most saws use a carbide tipped circular saw blade.  The blades are attached to a heavy duty spindle assembly to ensure proper support for the cutting motion.  Each saw is equipped with a custom fixture to hold the castings during the cutting process.  Each custom fixture has nesting features that help accurately position the casting for the cutting process.  The fixturing helps set the casting at the correct position to ensure the cut is made in the correct position removing the proper amount of material at each and every cut.    The fixture utilizes hydraulic clamping to hold the castings to the nesting features on the fixture.  The hydraulic clamps ensure the castings are held in place during the cutting sequence.

The fixtures are interchangeable and bolt to the moving table of the sawing equipment.

The moving table of the sawing equipment can be in the horizontal plane, vertical plane or on an inclined plane.  ATD can help you decide which saw is best for your application and your castings.  The saws can be stand-alone or incorporated into a finishing cell with a robot or a trim press or other ancillary equipment.  We can also accommodate custom features that may be needed for your cutting application.  We can customize the system to meet your needs.  We can customize by using hydraulics, pneumatics or servo electric drives.  Also we can add features for lubrication of saw blades for the cutting process as well as for the linear bearing system.
